Our Mission Emphasized

Our mission is to offer support by providing all the resources necessary to meet a family’s basic physiological needs.

What are the very basic physiological needs of any individual and what is that of a family?

  • Air to breath – the purest and most uncontaminated breathable air includes 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen. It also has very small amounts of other gases. This specific balance provides enough oxygen for cellular respiration while keeping the air safe, non-toxic, and comfortable for breathing.
  • Water-The best water for sustaining human life is natural, nutrient-rich, and free from contaminants. Ideal drinking water is usually slightly alkaline (pH above 7) and contains essential dissolved minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium.
  • Food-Providing fuel and sustenance for the body can come from several sources but a healthy balanced diet is best. Nutrient-dense, whole foods, focusing on daily intake of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean protein and healthy fats. Always limiting processed foods, sugar and sodium.
  • Shelter Warmth/Cool-Protection from extreme weather conditions. In the USA shelter can be viewed in many different forms. It may range in complexity from a rudimentary hut to a complex structure. What may be considered shelter to some may be a pigsty to another. If it provides protection from nature year around, it is a shelter.
  • Sleep/Rest-Ensuring restful sleep for physical and mental recovery. Sleep is an essential function that allows your body and mind to recharge, leaving you refreshed and alert when you wake up. Healthy sleep also helps the body remain healthy and stave off diseases. Without enough sleep, the brain cannot function properly, impairing your abilities to concentrate, think clearly, and process memories.
  • Homeostasis-Maintaining the body’s internal balance and regulation
  • Reproduction-People are social creatures. Our need to build meaningful relationships is important to our well-being. At this step, we’ll pursue needs like romantic relationships, family relationships, friendships and a sense of community

These needs are fundamental to human survival and should be prioritized to ensure the well-being of anyone in need. HPLA Charities began by focusing on helping our clients secure safe shelter. We have continued to provide services to meet this essential need, but today our mission has expanded. We now aim to support every stage of human survival, ensuring our clients have access to all the physiological necessities for life.

We can do things faster and better plus do more for a greater number with your help. Please use our www.hplacharities.org/donate page to support our mission. We do not have a paid staff and all monies received from donations go direct to our clients.
